Industry Panel Case Study

NEW YORK

Directed by Kabir Khan.
India, 2009, 157 min. In English and Hindi, with English subtitles, Festival Premiere.

NEW YORKSynopsis: For three inseparable college friends in New York, the year 2001 has thus far been a warm, sun-dappled summer. But when the World Trade Center's twin towers that gleam behind them fall, their friendship changes and one of them channels his rage into a terrorist plot. In this first Indian commercial studio film to be shot entirely in the US, Khan uses popular Indian cinema’s conventions and stylistic signatures with panache to illuminate the plight and politics of South Asian and Muslim men caught up in the aftermath of the catastrophe. With John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Katrina Kaif, Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin, Samrat Chakrabarti. Producer Sri Rao in person.
